Coolum…a foodies delight!

There are two things many people like to do on holiday when they come to the Sunshine Coast, and that is swim and eat!

And why not! We have some of the best beaches in the world right at our doorstep, and some of the freshest locally grown product available.

When the Sunshine Coast was first settled, much of the early settlers were farmers, working and farming crops of many varieties in our rich volcanic soils found in this region. Today we have a multitude of different crops in this region, not to mention some of the freshest seafood straight from the trawlers to Mooloolaba, then onto your table. It’s always much easier to enjoy food when it is this fresh!

Coolum Beach is one of those places where a lot of great food places are packed into one small township, which makes it a foodies heaven.

There are plenty of choices to fit every taste, from local delights through to international cuisines, but a few favourites worth trying include:

The Coolum Surfclub – known for a great menu, with amazing views overlooking Coolum Beach, this is ideal for breakfast or lunch, and the menu is brilliant, serving up large portions. There is also a great kids menu, so you won’t have a problem with fussy eaters!

Harvest Coolum is another great spot for those that like a little seaside view with their dining.

Located in the Clubb Coolum Beach resort, Harvest offers a modern Australian/Mediterranean menu in a casual dining atmosphere. The restaurant also sports a a great wine list, featuring Australian boutique wines and a few gems from New Zealand and France for you to taste.

Castro’s Bar and Restaurant has been a part of Coolum Beach landscape for many years now and offers a great dining environment and a very tasty menu, and are open 7 days from 5pm.

Whether you are just there for a quiet relaxing drink with friends on holidays, or looking to settle in for a tasty meal you’ll find their pasta dishes and wood-fired pizza something special.

Located in Frank Street, it’s just a short stroll from the beach, and easy to find.
